Mini race report no.3 - WES Round 1 โฌ๏ธ๐
Early alarm, it was still really dark out, breakfast and a brew, then off I went!
Arrived at Foel, after getting slightly lost in the snow, Iโm glad my little van made it!
The arrival of the snow threatened to put a stop to the day, but thankfully we were allowed to race, even if it was shortened to just 2 stages. โ๏ธ
Not wanting to end up too cold, or late to start.. I only did a couple of practice runs, though I should have probably done some more! Then I dashed back to the van for a much needed dry pair of gloves because my hands had gone totally numb! ๐ฌ
Waiting to start there were plenty of others like me, jogging on the spot, in an attempt to warm up again, to be ready to put some effort in!
Every days a school day, and a big lesson for the first run was that I should have definitely put my goggles on!! Eyes closed mid run isnโt ideal

Second run. Goggles on. Kind blokes in the que offering me wipes for them. I was happy to make it to the bottom of the second stage, because I donโt even know how I managed to save a near OTB moment I had! ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐

At the end of the day I was happy with my stages, not the fastest i felt they could be due to some mistakes, but still pretty chuffed with making it down those slick trails! ๐ฅ
Stoked to find that the top 3 were tight on the timings, and happy to be just half a second off the win ๐๐ค๐ผ

Hi to all Members, Iโm sorry this is a bit short notice weโve been working really hard on getting FDHR back open again big thanks to NRW for their support. Foel is only open for push up or pedal only as we havenโt got the room in the 9 seater minibus for social distancing. We are now very stoked to have the go ahead for Saturdays and Sundays only for push up or pedal NO OWN UPLIFTING and please respect this as there will be riders on the uplift road. There will be limited numbers a maximum of 30 for Covid rules and will be a minimum of 5 or itโs not fare somebody sitting there for any less.
